About Us
Darjoce Kennels was established in 2004 when the previous kennels of Bulldazlyn British Bulldogs and Broadway Great Danes (NZ) joined forces. Darren first became involved with British Bulldogs in 1994, and Jos with Great Danes in the early 90's. It was our love of our dogs that bought us together and we are now proud to breed, own and exhibit both breeds in Victoria, Australia.
We are located near Geelong on 5 acres, and have a large variety of animals including: 2 quarter horses, 2 minature horses, 2 British Shorthair cats, Silkie chickens, ducks, and on occassion, sheep.
We are also proud parents to our 3 wonderful children, Jackson (born 05), Erica (born 07) and Mitchell (born 08). Our kids are involved in the upbringing of all of our animals, in particular our puppies.
Although the breeds are nothing alike in looks, and obviously size, all of our dogs are housed together and enjoy playing in our paddocks as a group.
We aim to produce healthy, sound dogs, and have changed our breeding direction several times in order to achieve this. We are very focused on producing puppies as close to the breed standards as possible, and to have dogs with great temperaments, structure and type.
We are both on the committees of our local breed clubs - The British Bulldog Club of Victoria, and The Great Dane Club of Victoria, and are also members of several overseas breed clubs. Jos, along with Frances Hammer also runs The Great Dane rescue/rehoming in Victoria.
We have both spent the past years gathering knowledge and experience from many long-term breeders, and feel that the sharing of information and knowledge is essential to be able to continually improve and develop our chosen breeds.
We appreciate the support from David and Denise Lees (Mellowmood British Bulldogs, UK) for sending us Taz, and Casimiro Sanchis (La Chata Bulldogs, Spain) for sending us Victor and thank them for allowing such wonderful dogs into our home.
We are fortunate to have met some wonderful people throughout the world and locally, through our hobby, many of whom are now our closest friends.
